VTI History
Vision Technology was founded in 1992 by Jim
Trulaske and Dan Meyer who were both looking for
a vehicle to utilize their creative talents
while building a growth oriented high technology
corporation.
They came across a man with low vision who was
using a video reading assistance device in order
to read. The man was absolutely thrilled with
how it had changed his life. They both felt
that, while obviously helpful, the device was
quite primitive technologically. After a few
weeks of researching the current market and
competing available products, they both became
convinced that the market was large and growing
and had only begun to be developed. Second, they
determined with further research, that they
could make a product that would be significantly
better than what was available.
Vision Technology is positioned to take
advantage of a high growth opportunity in the
specialty medical equipment sector. The number
of individuals estimated to have low vision in
the U.S. alone is 18 million. Over the past year VTI has developed
the new InSight VGA line of video magnifiers
which allow the user to integrate their CCTV
with their current computer system. The InSight
900 VGA
is the first system to offer Picture-In-Picture
capability.
Beginning in 1997 VTI realized that many of
the innovations developed for the consumer
market had applications in the commercial and
industrial markets. The unique combination
of easy-to-use controls, auto-focus and VGA
integration would transform the way industrial
inspection was conducted. The new
ViewPoint systems represent state-of-the-art
technology for full featured easy-to-use video
inspection systems. In combination with a
high end articulating arm, the ViewPoint offers
unmatched flexibility and performance for all
types of video inspection.
All too often the innovation stops with the
product design. Vision Technology is committed
to full customer satisfaction. Over the past
year VTI has added a full time quality control
supervisor, who oversees all aspects of
production and packaging. It is through
total customer satisfaction that long term
growth can be sustained.
